Geo Genius Geography Olympiad (GGGO) 2020, Eligibility, Application Form, Last Date, Syllabus

Geo Genius Geography Olympiad is an annual competition conducted by Geo Genius. Students from Class 2nd to class 10th can participate in this Olympiad. This Olympiad is conducted at 2 levels viz. school level and national level. The very best participants of Level I Geography Olympiad will be chosen for National Level Competition II. The aim of this Olympiad is to generate the interest of young students in geographical and environmental studies. The Olympiad comprises of school-level competition, project work, and national level competition.

Eligibility Criteria: Geo Genius Geography Olympiad (GGGO) 2020

The eligibility criteria for Geo Genius Geography Olympiad is as follows

• This Olympiad is open for students of Class 2nd to class 10th studying in any state board/ ICSE/ CBSE and international boards.
• At least 50 students from each school can enroll in this Olympiad.

Geo Genius Geography Olympiad Reward

Level 1 (School Level)

• All 3 medals i.e. Gold, Silver, and Bronze will be awarded to the students if at least 15 candidates participate in a single category.
• In case less than 15 participants but more than 10 participants, then only Gold and Silver medal will be awarded.
• If less than 10 students but more than 5 students participate, then only Gold medal will be awarded.
• No medal will be rewarded if the number of participants is less than 5.

Level 2 (National Level)

Geo Genius Geography Olympiad (GGGO) - 2020 Registration Process

The details regarding the application process are as follows

1. Candidates can fill their forms through their respective schools.
2. In order to apply for this Olympiad, students have to contact their teacher in Incharge at school.
3. Click on the below link to download the registration form.
4. Each student has to pay exam fees of INR 140/-. Applicants can get a preparatory textbook of INR 110/-.

Exam Pattern/Syllabus

The students can take part in this Olympiad under the following category

• Class 2nd to 4th (Sub-junior category)
• Class 5th to 7th (junior category)
• Class 8th to 10th (senior category)

The Olympiad will be conducted in 2 steps

Level 1: the written test will be conducted consisting of multiple-choice questions.
Level 2: It comprises of written test followed by an audio-visual round. In the written exam, multiple-choice questions will be asked. In order to appear in the audiovisual round, students have to qualify for the written exam. In each category, the top 10 participants will be qualified for the audio-visual round.

Level I

• Last date of registration – 31st Aug 2020
• Exam Dates – 13th Oct 2020
• Venue: School itself

Level II

• National finals for selected toppers – 26th April 2021
• Venue – Kota, Rajasthan

Selection Procedure

Students will be selected for level 2 on the basis of their performance in the written exam of Level 1. Top 50 participants in each category from level 1 will be selected for Level 2 (national competition).
