The Gujarat Institute of Development Research (GIDR) is introducing ICSSR Doctoral Fellowships in Economics 2020. The institution has recognized by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and inviting applications from the eligible candidates for this 2 years fellowship. Candidates with a post-graduation degree in economics can apply for this fellowship program. The main objective of this scheme is to provide an opportunity for the aspirants to pursue full-time research work.

Eligibility Criteria for ICSSR Doctoral Fellowships in Economics

The students wishing to apply for ICSSR Doctoral Fellowships in Economics 202019have to fulfill the below-given eligibility conditions:

• Applicant must have passed the graduation degree with a minimum of 50 % marks and a post-graduation degree in economics with a minimum of 55 % marks.
• 5 % relaxation in marks percentage will be given to the SC/ST category candidates.
• It is necessary for the applicants to qualify either UGC-NET or Gujarat State Eligibility Test, popularly known as GSET, M.Phil or the Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) organized by Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar.
• The maximum age limit is 40 years as on the last date of application.
• Students availing UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)/ Rajiv Gandhi Doctoral Fellowship (RDF)/ Maulana Azad Doctoral Fellowship (MADF) or any other such scholarship are not eligible.

ICSSR Doctoral Fellowships In Economics Reward Amount

The scholars will receive a fellowship amount of INR 16,000/- per month plus a contingency grant of INR 15,000/- per annum. The fellowship has a duration of 2 years.

Selection Procedure

The selection process will consist of 2 stages. In the first stage, the selection will be based on the bio-data and the research proposal provided by the applicant in the application form. In the second stage, the shortlisted candidates will be called for a test and an interview at GIDR.
