Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students 2019-20, Assam | Eligibility Criteria, Application Form & Last Date

It is the centrally sponsored scheme offered by the Government of Assam to the students of class 11th onwards. This scholarship is being offered to those students who are Assam domiciled and belongs to Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. It is an initiative particularly for OBC candidates to encourage them for higher studies so that they can secure a dignified place in society.

Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students Reward:

• The benefits offered to the selected candidates are as follows:
• The scholarship amount covers tuition fees, enrolment/registration fee, library, magazine, and other such non-refundable fees.
• Scholars will get study tour charges of up to INR 900/- per annum.
• Research scholars will get thesis typing/printing charges of up to INR 1000/-.
• Blind scholars will get the reading allowance of up to INR 175/- per month. 
• Day scholars will get the maintenance allowance of up to INR 750/- per month and hostellers will get up to INR 1600/- per month (depending upon the course/group).
• Hosteller students fall under Group A will get INR 750/- per month and day scholars will get INR 350/- per month.
• Group B students will be awarded INR 510/- per month (hostellers) and day scholars with INR 335/- per month.
• Group C hosteller students will get INR 400/- per month while day scholars will get INR 210/- per month.
• INR 260/- will be given to the hostellers falling under group D and INR 160/- per month today scholars.

Eligibility For OBC Scholarship 2019-20:

The basic eligibility criteria to apply for this scholarship are:

• A candidate must be Assam Domiciled.
• The aspirant must belong to the OBC category.
• Students pursuing studies of class 11th to post-graduate level from a recognized board/institution can apply for this scheme.
• Those who are pursuing studies through correspondence/distance learning can also apply.
• The limit of the annual family income is INR 1.5 Lacs.
• Candidates who are employed and on leave without pay for the duration of the program can also apply.
• In addition, the candidates pursuing PG courses in medicine can also apply but these candidates are not permitted to practice during the entire duration of the program.

• The application process is completely online.
• Candidates can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
• Click To Apply Button
• Fresh candidates have to click on “New User? Register here”.
• Now, select the scholarship name, scheme type, state of domicile and fill details like name, gender, category, DOB, email ID, mobile number, residential address, etc.
• After clicking on register, you will get an OTP in your registered mobile number.
• Verify your mobile number through OTP.
• Fill the rest of the scholarship form and submit the details.

• Passport size photograph
• A copy of the duly filled application in the prescribed form
• Attested copies of all certificates/diploma/degree passed till now
• Caste certificate
• Income certificate
