SOF International English Olympiad (IEO) 2020-21, Eligibility Criteria, Last Date, Prizes

The SOF International English Olympiad (IEO) 2020 is a two-level examination conducted every year by the Science Olympiad Foundation, for the students of class 1st to 12th. This examination usually held at school, zonal, and international levels. These kinds of academic competitions are part of an initiative to escalate development and competitive spirit among the youth of our nation. Candidates who will crack this competition will receive variable benefits and rewards.

Eligibility to apply for SOF International English Olympiad

There are two levels of this examination, and each of them as its eligibility terms. Let's have a look:-

Level 1: To appear in this level, the applicant must be a student of class 1st to 12th.

Level 2: To appear in this level, the applicant must be a student of class 3rd to 12th. He/she must be one of the top 5% of students of class (As per academics). He/she must be one of the top 25 rank holders from each class at the zonal level. And, he/she must be a class topper from his/her participating school, where a minimum of 10 students from a class sit in the examination and score 50% qualifying marks.

Benefits/Rewards of SOF International English Olympiad

The olympiad topper awards of the international and zonal level will be given only to the winners of 2nd level, except for class 1st and 2nd. They are free to get awards after winning at the 1st level. Awards are by this means:-

International Level

• First Rank Holders (A total of 12 Awards are available): INR 50,000 each, Gold Medal and a Certificate of remarkable performance.
• Second Rank Holders (A total of 12 Awards are available): INR 25,000 each, Silver Medal and a Certificate of remarkable performance.
• Third Rank Holders (A total of 12 Awards are available): INR 10,000 each, Bronze Medal and a Certificate of remarkable performance.

Zonal Level

• First Rank Holders (A total of 312 Awards are available): INR 5000 each, Gold Medal and a Certificate of zonal excellency.
• Second Rank Holders (A total of 312 Awards are available): INR 2,500 each, Silver Medal and a Certificate of zonal excellency.
• Third Rank Holders (A total of 312 Awards are available): INR 1,000 each, Bronze Medal and a Certificate of zonal excellency.
• Fourth to Tenth Rank Holders (A total of 2,184 Awards are available): INR 1,000 each, Medal of distinction, and a Certificate of Zonal excellency.
• Eleventh to Twentyfifth Rank Holders (A total of 4,680 Awards are available): A certificate of Zonal excellency, with a medal & certificate of distinction.
• Twenty-Sixth and Above Rank Holders: A certificate of merit and participation.
• A total of 7,800 awards including a medal and certificate of distinction will be given to the top 25 rank holders of level one at the zonal level.
• Candidates with rank 26th or above will receive a participation certificate of level 1.

How to apply the International English Olympiad Form?

Applying through your school is the only way to participate in this olympiad. Schools that are registered will receive a prospectus from SOF, in which they will have to fill the names of candidates who are willing to register with all their details and registration fees.

Note: Schools that are not registered and want their students to participate in the SOF International English Olympiad, can send a request mail at info@sofworld.org, with the names of all their applicants and a registration fee worth INR 125 each.
