Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is offering Visiting Students Research Programme (VSRP-2019) to those motivated students who have completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework in the field of Science and Engineering. The objective of this programme is to provide research experience to undergraduate and master’s students in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics fields.  The selected students will get an opportunity to work under the supervision of a TIFR researcher.

TIFR Visiting Students Research Programme Reward:

• Awardees will get a monthly stipend of INR 7000/-.
• Selected candidates will get to and fro travel reimbursement from the place of their residence.
• Additionally, the awardees will get on- or off-campus accommodation.

TIFR Visiting Students Research Programme Eligibility:

Here are the eligibility conditions which aspirants have to mandatorily fulfill to apply for this research programme:

• Candidates pursuing undergraduate or master’s programme in Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Mathematics/Computer & Systems Sciences can apply.
• Also, the candidates who have completed minimum 2-years of coursework in an academic institution can apply.
• Ph.D. students or faculty members are not eligible to apply.
• Candidates who have taken the VSRP programme before can also not apply.

How to apply for TIFR Visiting Students Research Programme:

The application process of TIFR Visiting Students Research Programme (VSRP-2019) comprises of following steps:

• For applying online, click to Apply Button
• The first step is of basic registration.
• Fill all your basic details such as name, gender, DOB, email ID, contact number, etc.
• After completing basic registration, applicants will receive a link in their mail ID for advanced registration.
• In this step, candidates need to upload the scanned passport size photograph (in the .jpg file of size not more than 100 kb).
• Enter academic and referee details.
• Also, provide a write-up of around 400 words in your area of research.
• At last, submit the form.

Note: Both referees will receive a link for filling up the referee report in their email ID after the completion of registration.

• Last date to apply – 28th February 2019 (for Maths) and 31st January 2019 (for other subjects)
• VSRP at TIFR campus, Mumbai – 6th May to 28th June 2019
• VSRP for Mathematics – 14th May to 14th June 2019
• VSRP at NCRA, Pune – 2nd May to 28th June 2019

TIFR Visiting Students Research Programme Selection Procedure:

Candidates will get selected on the basis of their academic performance, a write-up submitted by them and referee reports.
