B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture Admission 2021-20 & Top Colleges

 

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture is the 3 years (4 years in some of the colleges) undergraduate academic course. Each academic year is equally divided into 2 semesters.The total fee of the course is approximately Rs. 2 to 3 lac.
  • The correspondence mode is also available for pursuing this course.
  • The course involves the study of modern methods, techniques, use of modern fertilizers for improving the productivity of crops. The study also includes the use of technologies aspects for the advancement of agriculture.

Eligibility Criteria:


To Pursue B.Sc. (Hons.) in agriculture, students need to pass the intermediate examination (12th) from a recognized educational institution. The qualifying examination must be completed with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology subjects by securing minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories). Students who have passed the 10+2 with agriculture subjects are also eligible for admission.


Admission Procedure:

  • Firstly, aspirants have to fill the application form for the desired course and college where he/she wants to take admission.
  • Admission shall be based on merit basis. Merit is calculated by considering the candidate’s score in the 12th examination.
  • However, in some of the colleges, admissions are done through entrance test conducted by the respective institution.

  • A person can apply for banking job offered by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).

After completing B.Com (Hons.) in agriculture, one can get the salary of around 15,000/- to 20,000/- per month. A pay package may increase after a few years of experience. An Agricultural loan officer earns the salary of Rs. 35,000/- or more per month.
