Government College is a government public college which is located in Muktsar Sahib, Punjab. It was established in the year 1951 and affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh.
It provides the education in various disciplines such as Agriculture, Science, Commerce, Arts, Computer Application and Management. The offered courses are BBA, B.SC (Medical), B.sc (Non Medical), BA, B.Com, MA Economics, MA Political Science, B.SC Agriculture, BCA, Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application, M.Sc Mathematics and others.
There are various academic blocks and departments. The campus has all academic facilities for the students such as well stocked library with rich collection of books of all subjects, hi tech computer lab, medical facility, sports and games facility, well-equipped labs and workshops, auditorium, lecture hall, seminar hall, practical room etc.

Admission to UG level courses like B.Sc, BA, BBA, B.SC and B.Com will be done on the merit basis of previous qualifying examination i.e. 10+2examination.
For admission to PG Level courses like M.Sc, PGD, MA etc will be done through the merit basis of graduation examination.
To be eligible for BBA, B.Com and BA, 12th in any discipline from recognized board.
For B.SC Medical, must have done 12th in science stream with Chemistry, Physics and Biology as main subjects from recognized board.
For B.sc Non-Medical, intermediate in science discipline with Physics, mathematics and chemistry as main subjects from recognized board.
For M.SC Mathematics, students must have done B.Sc with mathematics as one of the main subject from recognized University.
For MA economics, students must have done BA in relevant discipline and studied economics as one of the main subject from recognized university.
For BCA, students must have done intermediate in any discipline with mathematics or computer science as main subject from and for PGDCA, students must have done graduation from recognized University.
