MD in Community medicine Admission 2021

• It is a 3 years’ post graduate course, divided into 6 semesters. 
• Community medicine is a branch of medicine, concerned with the health of the members of a community and region or municipality. 
• It enables student to recognize the health requirement of the community and implement the professional obligations with the objectives of the national health policy.
• The primary objective of this course is to develop public health specialists in terms of adequate knowledge, requisite skills and appropriate behavioral attributes for the efficient management, education and research, health planning.
• This course covers topics like History of Public Health and Evolution, Epidemiology, Research Methods, Health Management, Health Economics, Nutrition, Mental health etc. 
• It includes subjects like Human Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmaceutical Math & Biostatistics, Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. 
• During this course, you will obtain the epidemiological knowledge, dynamics of transmission of common communicable diseases for necessary measures to prevent and control diseases.
• After completing this course, you will respond to Plan, organize, implement, monitor or evaluate outcome and impact of health care programmers and services.
• A student who has obtained the MBBS degree from a recognized medical university are eligible to apply for this course. 
• On the completion of this course, you will get employment opportunities in sectors like Health services, Medical Research Organization, Pharmaceutical Industries, State or Central Health Services etc. 

Admission procedure

• To take admission in this course, you have to appear for national or state level entrance exam. 
• Some universities also conduct their own entrance exam to offer admission into this course.
