Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (Class 9th & 10th), Meghalaya 2020, Eligibility, Online Apply Process & Last Date

The Department of Education with the help of the Government of Meghalaya has invited applications for the Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST students. The scholarship is an initiative for the students studying in the 9th & 10th standard but is suffering from the financially weak family background. This scholarship is a centrally sponsored scholarship scheme which is supervised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

Eligibility To Apply For Pre Matric Scholarships for ST Students 

To pass the eligibility of this scholarship:-

• Candidate must have a domicile of Meghalaya
• Candidate must be a student of class 9th or 10th.
• Candidate must belong to Schedule Tribe Community
• The annual family income of the candidate must be less than INR 2,00,000.

Awards & Benefits of Pre Matric Scholarships for ST Students (Class 9th & 10th)

These are the benefits that students will receive from this scholarship:-

• INR 350 Per Month for students living in hostels and INR 150 Per Month for day scholars.
• Books and Adhoc Grant: INR 1000 P/A for students living in the hostel & INR 750 for day scholars.
• Provision for mentally or physically disabled students. 

What is the Application Process of this scholarship?

Follow these steps to apply successfully for the Pre-Matric Scholarships for ST Students (Class 9th & 10th):-

1. Click on New Registration after landing on the homepage of the National Scholarship Portal.
2. Read the terms and guidelines mentioned there, and proceed by clicking continue.
3. Enter the basic but essential details correctly like Applicant's Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, E-Mail ID, State of Domicile, Scholarship Category, Scheme Type & Gender.
4. Enter the applicant's bank details, like Bank Name, IFSC Code, Account Number.
5. Then enter your Aadhar card number and Bank Account Number to confirm registration.
6. After this, you'll receive an OTP number on your Mobile Phone Number.
7. Now, Log in using OTP and fill the form correctly.
8. After form submission, an application ID and password will be generated for your future information and data usage. 

Documents Required for the Scholarship For Meghalaya ST Students

These are the required documents to apply for the scholarship:-

• A copy of the application.
• Attested copies of Certificate, Diploma & Degree.
• Copy of applicant's passport-sized photograph.
• A caste certificate signed by an authorized revenue officer.
• An income declaration by the self-employed parents of the candidate.
• A receipt of applying for the scholarship in the previous year.

How the selection criteria for this scholarship will be held?

• All the ST candidates, who fulfill the eligibility criteria, will be shortlisted for the scholarship.
• Candidates belong to a particular state, but are studying in another state will receive a scholarship from the government of the state they belong and will have to submit their applications to the competent authorities in that state.
