University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) is a constituent college of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University and it is previously known as Institute of Engineering and Technology which is located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is Private Co-Educational institute which has been established in the year 1996. It is approved by University Grants Commission.
UIET provides the education in the field of Engineering, Computer Application, Applied Science. The offered courses are B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information Technology, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Material Science, BCA, MCA, M.Sc in Electronics, Bioinformatics, MCA, M.Phil in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
It has well developed infrastructure with having all the required facilities and amenities. It has well stocked library with large collection of books of all departments, Lecture hall complex, Laboratories and workshops, Seminar hall, Computer lab, Wifi connectivity, Medical facility, Transport facility, smart classroom with teaching aids and others.
Each department of college has its own head and well qualified and experienced faculty members. The faculty member gives the class lectures and provide as guides for student projects. Visiting faculty and guest faculty come the college to deliver the lectures and courses.
UIET conducts the various curricular and extracurricular events time to time. The main events organized by the college are Spandan, Tech Marts, Seminars, Workshop, Farewell, Fresher’s, Farewell, Convocation etc.
There is a placement cell which has been established to start the training and placement activities. The cell invites the reputed companies from all over India and prepares the students for their final interview. It also arranges the summer internship training for the students.
The major recruiting companies are HCL technologies, Infosys, Samsung Electronics, TCS, Oswal Chemicals, Scooter India Ltd., IBM, Hughes Software Systems, HLL, SAIL, DRDO, Koshika Telecom Ltd and many more.

Student can apply online on college Institute official website or they can obtain the application form from college campus.
To be eligible for B.Tech course, student need to complete 10+2 in science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects from recognized board. They need to score minimum 45% marks in qualifying examination (40% marks in case of SC/ST category students). They must have valid score in UPSEE. Admission will be done on the basis of score obtained in UPSEE. Vacant seats will be filled at the college level on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying examination.
For MCA, students must have completed graduation with minimum 50% marks from recognized University. Students must have studied Mathematics as main subject at 10+2 level. They have to appear in UPMAT conducted by UPTU.
For admission to M.sc, must have done B.sc in relevant discipline from recognized University and obtained minimum 50% marks.
For Admission to M.Phil course, student need to complete M.SC or any other equivalent qualification in relevant discipline from recognized University. They have to appear in appear in University Entrance Exam.

UIET fee structure is very less as compare to other colleges in the city. The fee of B.Tech course is Rs.68,643, MCA Rs. 36,143, M.Sc Rs.43,593, and MCA Rs.53,643.
