B. Tech. - Food Science is known as Bachelor of Technology in Food Science, which is an undergraduate degree program. Food Science is all about the study of the nature of foods and the changes that occur in them naturally arid as a result of handling and processing. It focuses on the application of biological, chemical, and physical principles to the study of converting raw agricultural products into processed forms which are appropriate for the direct human consumption, and the storage of such products. Under this course, students will study the subjects like Food Microbiology, Food Chemistry, and Nutrition, Basic Principles of Food Engineering, Technology of Food Preservation etc. Through this course, students will explore new food sources, find ways to make processed foods safe, determine fat and protein levels in foods and develop ways to process, store, preserve and distribute food. Furthermore, students who have completed their 10+2 with science stream can apply for this Degree program.
