Ramanujan Fellowship 2020 invites all the eligible applicants to apply and take the maximum benefits of the fellowship. This fellowship has been provided by the Science and Engineering Research Board running under the aegis of the Department of Science of Technology, Government of India. The aim of this scholarship is to provide brilliant Indian and foreign scientists a research position in India.

Ramanujan Fellowship 2020 has very selective criteria where a scientist has to work in any of the scientific institutions and universities. The fellowship covers all the areas of sciences with a duration of 5 years maximum.

Eligibility Criteria for Ramanujan Fellowship - SERB

• Applicable to foreigners and Indian Scientists working on board.
• Limited scientist that must be below the age of 40 years.
• One must possess a PhD in science or engineering.
• The candidates must have an excellent academic record and must have research published.
• One must not be on a permanent or contractual position in any Indian university or institution.

SERB - Ramanujan Fellowship Amount/Benefits

• The selected fellowship will be awarded INR 1,35,000 per month including HRA.
• Research grant of INR 70,000 and INR 60,000 as overhead charges.
• The maximum duration is five years and will not be extended in any way.

Terms Conditions

• Scientists can choose to work in any lab and technical institution or Laboratories across India.
• The institution must provide the necessary things for smooth research.
• The scientists must individually approach the institution for their choice of the fellowship and the host institution should mention their nomination to the Science and Engineering Research Board.
