M. Tech. - Genetic Engineering is known as Master of Technology in Genetic Engineering, which is a postgraduate degree program. Genetic Engineering is a laboratory technique that use by scientists to change the DNA of living organisms. It involves extracting the DNA out of one organism, changing it using chemicals or radiation and then putting it back into the same or a different organism. It is related to plants, animals, and human beings. Under this course, students will study the subjects of Molecular Genetics, Recombinant DNA Technology, Genomics and Proteomics, Sequence Analysis & Structure Prediction, Regulation of Gene Expression, Statistical Genetics and more. At the same time, they will know about Genetically Modification of foods and humans.
Moreover, students who hold B.E or B. Tech degree can only apply for this Master degree. After completion of this program, they can find many job opportunities in Medical Industry, Agricultural sector, Research, and Development Departments of Government, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industries.
