Students belonging to Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Zoroastrians (Parsis), & Buddhists religions are considered as minority communities, according to the Government of India. Under this Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities, an amount of INR 10,000 is being offered to the students studying from class 11th to Ph.D., for their higher and better education.

Post-Matric Intermediate Scholarship is created to serve the students of the minority class, studying in the 11th standard or above.   • As per the rules of Government of India, only candidate belonging to a minority community can apply for this Scholarship.
  • Minority communities include Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, Christians, Zoroastrians, and Jains.
  • Student can apply for the Scholarship only if he/she is studying in class 11th, 12th, graduate, post-graduate, technical, vocational, M.Phil, or any Ph.D. course.
  • Students willing to apply for this Scholarship must have scored at least 50% marks in the previous final examination.
  • Scholarship can only be given to the student if the annual family income of him/her is less than two lacs per annum. This annual income is considered after comprising all the sources of income in the family.

Rewards from Post Matric Intermediate Scholarship for Minorities

The Scholarship will provide the free mentioned financial assistance to the students going to start their education career through government or any private higher secondary school/University/Institution, etc., including all the eligible private institutes and residential institutes of government in a visible manner by the Union territory administration concerned.
Institute centers affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training will also be considered for providing scholarships.
The Scholarship is only valid for the courses with a duration of more than one year, although the certificate is already outside the scope of this Scholarship.
The Scholarship covers financial support, admission fees, course/tuition fees along with the maintenance allowance.

  1. Visit the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Scholarship Portal http://scholarship.up.nic.in/.
  2. If applying as a new user, all the required details must be filled correctly.
  3. Details include Domicile Details, Date of Birth, Full Name of the Candidate, Gender, Mobile No & Email-ID.
  4. After filling all the details, the OTP you'll receive will be used to verify your mobile number.
  5. After verification, the OTP will also help to log in on NSP and fill the form.
  6. After completing all the steps, an application ID and Password will get generated for future preferences.

Documents Required for Post Matric Intermediate Scholarship for Minorities

While applying for the scholarship, the following documents are required on the application portal. 

  1. Domicile Certificate of the living state.
  2. Proof Certificate of belongingness to a minority community.
  3. Self Attested copy of last academic mark sheet.
  4. Photocopy of Aadhar Card
  5. Income Certificate issued & authorized by UT authority.
  6. Bank account proof of student or joint account with father/mother
