Government Law College, Mumbai

Government Law College is commonly known as GLC, which is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is one of the oldest law school in Asia, which was established in the year 1855. The college is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI) and affiliated to University of Mumbai.

It has been ranked 15 for Top 25 law colleges in India in 2021 by Outlook India and 10th by The week for Top Law Colleges 207.

Offered courses of the college are B.L.S. LL.B, LL.B, Postgraduate Diploma Course in Securities Law, Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights, Diploma in Cyber-Laws and Post Graduate Certificate Course in Human Rights.

The college includes facilities like well-stocked library, Electronics research room, hostel accommodation, a Mooting Room, an Auditorium, an audio-visual room and sports facilities. 

It conducts activities like Moot Court competition, Debates, Seminar, Sports activity, Essay, dance, drama competition to improve literacy skills of aspiring candidates. 

GLC invites the large number of corporate, advocates, counsels and top legal firms to recruit the students of college. Many students have been placed in the top legal firms of India. Some of the recruiters are AZB and Partners, Desai and Diwanji, Tata Group of Companies, LIC Housing, Colgate Palmolive, Khaitan and many more.

 

Government Law College, Mumbai Admission

For admission to BLS LLB, students must have completed 10+2 in any discipline from recognized Board. They must have obtained minimum 50% marks in qualifying examination. Students will have to appear for MH CET LAW. Admission will be done on the basis of score obtained in MH CET Law.

For admission to LLB, student need to complete graduation in any discipline from recognized University. They must have obtained minimum 50% marks in qualifying examination. Students have to appear in MHCET. Admission will be done through counseling based on the score obtained in MH CET.

50% of total seats will be reserved for the students from reserved categories from Maharashtra as per the rule of Government.

Students from other boards than the Maharashtra State Board are needed to obtain 5% more than the students from the Maharashtra State board.

Admission to PG Diploma, Students must have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized University. They need to secure minimum 50% marks in graduation. Admission will be given on the basis of performance in the qualifying examination.
