Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities is being offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. This scholarship scheme is available for students studying in class 11th, 12th and above which include courses like B.Tech, Medical, B.Sc., B.Com, ITI, etc. The scholarship is awarded to students for studies in India in government or private schools or institutions/colleges. The main purpose of introducing this scheme is to financially support the meritorious students of economically weaker sections of the minority community in pursuing higher education. 

 

Eligibility Criteria for Post Matric Scholarships Scheme For Minority 

Following are the eligibility conditions for Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities:

  • The student must belong to the minority community (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians/Parsis).
  • Students pursuing class 11th, 12th and above courses including ITI, UG, PG, and doctoral level courses can apply for this scholarship scheme.
  • The applicant must be secured a minimum of 50 % marks in the previous final examination.
  • The family income of the applicant does not exceed INR 2 lacs per annum.

Post Matric Minority Scholarship Reward 2019-20

A total of 5 lacs scholarships will be awarded to the eligible students. The selected students will receive financial assistance in the admission/tuition fee and also get maintenance allowance as given below:

  • Class 11th and 12th students (both day scholars and hostellers) will get the admission fee and tuition fee of INR 7,000/- per annum.
  • Students pursuing technical and vocational courses of Class 11th and the 12th level will get the admission fee and tuition fee of INR 10,000/- per annum (for both hostellers and day scholars).
  • For UG and PG level courses, the admission and tuition fee provided is INR 3,000/- per annum (both hostellers and day scholars).
  • For class 11th and 12th including technical and vocational courses - The maintenance allowance provided today scholars and hostellers is INR 230/- per month and INR 380/- per month respectively.
  • For UG and PG courses (other than technical and professional courses) -  The maintenance allowance provided today scholars and hostellers is INR 570/- per month and INR 300/- per month respectively.
  • For M.Phil and Ph.D. courses - The maintenance allowance provided today scholars and hostellers is INR 1200/- per month and INR 550/- per month respectively.

Note: In each minority community, a 30 % scholarship is earmarked for girls of a respective state/UT. In case of non-availability of female candidates, then these scholarships will be transferred to the male candidates of that state/UT.

Students can follow these simple steps to apply for Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities 2019

  1. Students can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
  2. Click here to register for the scholarship
  3. Fill all the requisite details including domicile of state, name, mobile number, gender, email ID, select scholarship category, scheme, etc.
  4. Also, enter your bank details including bank account number and IFSC code.
  5. After successful completion of registration, students will get an OTP in their registered mobile number.
  6. Verify your mobile number and proceed further for filling the application form.
  7. Enter all the details carefully.
  8. At last, note down your user ID/application ID and password for further use.

Post Matric Scholarship Last Date

Aspirants can now apply for Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities 2019-20. The last date to submit the filled-in application form is 15th November 2019.

 

Selection Procedure In Post Matric Minority Scholarship

The selection of the eligible students will be purely made on the basis of their financial status and family income. If the family income of two or more applicants is the same then, DOB will be taken into consideration i.e. an applicant possessing more age will be preferred.
