Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is a State Agricultural University which is located in Ludhiana, Punjab. It is third oldest agricultural university in India. It was established in the year 1963 and inaugurated by Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru. It is recognized by UGC and ICAR. It imparts the education in the field of Agriculture, Applied Science, Mass Communication, Management, Engineering, Home Science, fashion design, Computer application etc.

It has been ranked 60 by National Institutional ranking framework overall in India and 38 among Universities in India.

The offered courses by University are B.tech in Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Technology, MBA in Agri Business, B.Sc+M.Sc Hons in Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, B.Sc Hons in Agriculture, Fashion Design, Home Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, M.Sc, M.Tech, MCA, MJMC, Diploma in Agriculture, Ph.D in various Disciplines etc. There are 28 departments and four constituent colleges.

The campus of University is spread over an area of 1510 acres of land. The University has best infrastructural facilities and amenities for the students inside the college campus. There are well equipped labs and workshops, well stocked library , fully furnished classroom, smart classroom, medical facility, field, playgrounds, hi tech computer lab, sports and games facility, seminar hall, air conditioned auditorium, lecture hall, conference hall, common rooms, hostel facility, cafeteria, mess facility etc. It also has a multipurpose stadium which is located in the campus. 

Many Seminars, Workshops, National and International Conferences and other curricular and extra curricular activities are organized by the University throughout the year.

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana Admission

For Admission to B.Tech in agricultural engineering, students must have done intermediate in science stream from recognized University. They must have valid score in JEE main. Admission will be done only on the basis of score obtained in JEE Mains.

For admission to B.tech and Integrated M.Sc  courses will  be done on the basis of score obtained in Common Entrance Test conducted by Punjab Agricultural University.

For admission to B.Sc Hons course in various disciplines, students need to complete 12th in science stream with PCM or PCB subjects from recognized board. They have to appear in CET (Common Entrance test) conducted by PAU. Admission will be done through counseling based on the score obtained in CET.

Admission to B.Sc in Architecture, students will be required to appear in National Leve; Architecture Aptitude Test. Admission will be done on the basis of score in AAT.

For B.Sc in Fashion Designing, students will be required to appear in Design Aptitude Test conducted by NID.

For admission to PG level courses such as MBA, M.Tech, MJMC, M.SC, MCA etc, will be done through entrance test i.e. MET followed by Personal Interview conducted by Punjab Agricultural University.

To get admission to PhD courses, students must have completed Master degree in relevant discipline from recognized University. They have to appear in PAU Written Test and Interview conducted by PAU. Students who have valid score in ICAR  will be called directly for the Interview round, they don’t need to appear in any entrance test conducted by University.

The fee structure is nominal being a State Agricultural University. So students can easily afford the college fee. It provides the scholarship to meritorious and deserving students.
